upgrades successful Biggest changes yet for the site have been finished just now with the successful transition to a premium Freewebs account and five year ownership of the domain name XSRDragRacing.com. All files are now carried on this site rather than the old branching to Geocities method. News for May will be archived in the next day or so, leaving us with a fresh new page here for another month of news. |

Miyagi gears up his A/FC challenge Miyagi has exclusively unveiled the new body that will be covering up one of the fastest A class motors in the business.
The candy apple red scheme is a reflection of the Greene Machine Nitro Funny Car, which Miyagi works on. Already taking on the other racers and showing his A/FC is capable of a regular high placing, his other cars are no less impressive.
Miyagi and Jonno expect to return this Friday night for another exciting round of elimination racing. |
| 21/05/2006 - Speed
errors for McIlwraith C/Gas Calum McIlwraith must be wondering where his Chevy Pro Stock Truck C/Gas is gaining an extra 30mph an hour on two of the four runs made in his rounds of racing on Friday. Where his two normal runs of 38.94mph and 39.55mph were more par for the course, two other runs were recorded at 68.42mph and 68.48mph which would have been a phenomenal result for the A class cars, let alone a budget small block C class motor. Alas, new records were not to be for young Calum as it turned out to be a system anomoly and the mph not counted for backups for the record. Or was the mph, which only affected the C/Gas car, destined to be for Calum after all? Guess no one will ever know... |

Mercury rising... another new custom Two hot new cars to talk about, the Hunter one being the most well known one since last week, but a surprise from the John pitbox was also catching some interest. A custom '49 Mercury was looking very trick in it's black livery and complete with chrome wheels. Again, class and power is unknown, but a very welcome addition to the varied grid at XSR.

Budweiser Topolino for Jason As Jason is taking a work-related sabbatical and won't be around for the Friday racing at least, we can always look forward to the new ride that will be top of the bunch. The Budweiser Topolino Altered is certainly attracting the attention as it deserves. Motors and gears are unknown at the moment, but there is three months for him to decide on the race plan for it.

"Boekhout's Burnout" on StupidVideos.com Guess the title gives away the story doesn't it? But to elaborate more on it, the video previously known as Boekhout's Burnout, where Shane Boekhout put his A/D Texaco car on the burnout pad and literally gave it so much gusto it caught fire, has been put onto the very well known website StupidVideos.com. It's in the Stunts sections of all places and should keep the world amused all the same. To reintroduce yourself to the video, click this link here or look up the original home of the file at MDM in the Photos page.

| 12/05/2006 - "Miyagi"
throws gauntlet down The red hot pace of the "Miyagi" Funny Car was too much for the rest of the opposition as he stormed to a new ET and speed record for A/FC. The win went his way when facing up to the challenge of the Jason Farrell C/Gas Hot Rod. More on this story in the Reports section. | 10/05/2006 -
Reorganisation of site Shows how much attention I pay these days on the internet. I have just noticed the logo for our site on WADragRacing.com which helps the web counter a good deal I imagine. So to mark the occasion, I have tidied up the site a little to make it more readable and understandable for the folks who haven't come across this hobby before. I myself know very well how much there is to absorb that I couldn't get my head around when I began and there may be some things that may need translating (terminology and the like). Any questions, send me an email on this link here and either I or one of the other racers may be able to help. - Dave Hunter |
5/05/2006 - Jason
Hunter pockets two in a row Jason Hunter was again top of the pile in the weekly battle of the electric motors, this time taking his Ford SUV to victory lane. His run against Dave Hunter's tough Zero D/FC was flawless to the end, running quicker on his dial-in. Unfortunately, no new photos or records were set in the numericaly challenged, missing key players including Craig Britten, race starter Tina Britten, Jason Farrell and the John family. Normal service of this site resumes next week with a report and pics hopefully. |
| 4/05/2006 - Outlaw
class split Outlaws will split into two motor categories depending on the motor in the chassis. Super 16D cars become the Supercharged Outlaws (SC/O) class, which must use a body with a supercharger on it of any age. Standard 16D-equipped cars will retain the Outlaw class name, the body must be a pre-1980 style model. All motors must be sealed in both classes. It opens the drag racing up to the kids and adults who have spare flexi chassis who don't necessarily have a Super motor to use for the previous Outlaw class. The XDRA Build Rules book has been updated in the Class Rules page. |
