27/6/2006 - Surprise!

Miyagi has sent us a nice surprise for one unsuspecting racer.  He has taken some quality pictures of the Jonno C/Gasser as hasn't been posted yet.  As it is close to the end of the month and a news archive to be created within days, these will also go in the photos page.

Chad wins Friday DYO race

Chad won this week's race, but thanks to losing the results for the week, no race report or any details are available beyond this.

Chad's Page updated

Now includes different round formats, from random round selection to Chicago Shootout.

Miyagi's A/FC Photos

The master of monster motors, Miyagi, has sent in some photos of the A/FC Miyagi Funny Car.  Send in your pictures of your cars to feature here.

Dave's HQ Monaro C/Gas steals the win

The Nova HQ won from the Mark John C/FC this week in a small race meet for the year.  Mark was destined to take both the Funny Car and the C/Gas T-Bucket to the final when the one car in final round rule took effect.  Check out the race result in the Reports page.

Imported racer makes debut

Dave also had more good news as the B/Gas Mustang from Texas made it's debut race this week.  The gasser made some useful mph before exiting the second round.

Dick Landy and green T-Bucket near completion

The chassis work to both of Mark's cars are completed and are almost ready to turn wheels in anger very soon.

11/6/2006 - Super Model Car Sunday 2006

Everyone in the modelling business in Western Australia will agree that this is by far one of THE shows to go to in the year.

Thanks to the efforts of Alan Barton and the West Coast Street Rod Club, the clubrooms based in Malaga are packed with entrants and their modelling efforts for the year.  With diverse themes like drag cars, speedway racers and the big rigs, it's one big automotive celebration.

XSR will have their cars polished and cleaned of traction glue for the day then, our typical entry being the drag cars plus a few special hard body circuit racers.  The cars featured on this site will for the most part be on display.

Check them out on Sunday 16th July from 9am until 4pm at 12 Cusack Road, Malaga.

Mark John and Rod make winning team this week

The X/Mod Deuce Hot Rod was top of the pile in this week's race action.  Beating the feared JPS Pontiac B/Gas of Chad Raven in the final, it was another close set of races with everyone running around the 8 to 9 tenth mark with a few slower cars in the 1 second range.  Report now available.

Chad's Page is unveiled

Chad has dumped all his written reports into my 'In' tray and told me they had to be put by the end of the day.  So what better way to put them onto the site than by giving him his very own page?

The reports all carry two themes in every one:  betterment of the hobby and introducing it to the rookies and juniors of tomorrow.  Hopefully his hard work with the biro will provide everyone with a clearer idea of achieving their slot car goals.

4/6/2006 - Flashback

Aah, the days when all the XSR news and pictures were rather unfashionably lumped into an inappropriate forum that really didn't care either way for the hobby in general.

Or so I thought.  Turns out the archive part of the forum has uploaded the thread as a PDA format.  Oddly enough, no pictures exist from the period, but I have them all from the past year and a half.

Here is the archive:

Chad and Riviera wins Week 13

The close race proved to be a winner for everyone, but for Chad the race was won with his B/Gas Riviera which to him would have been the topping on the cake.  Yahoo was runner up in his X/Mod Ferrari.  For a more detailed race report, visit the Race Reports page.

"Miyaglia" makes 2006 testing debut

The infamous "Miyaglia" returned to the track for the first time in a year for some much needed testing.  The Miyagi-owned Ford Anglia is one of the most recognisable cars thanks to it's wall bashing, lane jumping antics.  Last night's runs proved to be more of a sedate affair thankfully and it survives for another week.

Jonno's F/Gas Beetle returns

Another car to be classed as one of the more known entries, the Jonno Beetle claimed it's record for F/Gas at 1.118@31.48mph.  Although not one of it's happier nights with tyre shake, the car once again proves to be a giant killer.

Nationals event planned

The idea of a Nationals-style event has been put in place for the near future with a date and class format to be decided yet.  Occasional Sunday dial-in events are also thought to be on the cards.
